Updates: Night at the Pier 2020

March 24, 2020

These are uncertain times for all of us. As you have probably guessed, Night at the Pier will not be held as previously scheduled.

Many of you have already purchased tickets, ads and sponsorships to support the work we are doing at Family Equality. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate you letting us turn those purchases, etc. into charitable donations, and we will issue a tax letter reflecting that change. However, we can also refund those gifts. Either way, we remain so grateful.

As one donor shared with us:

“I am sending this donation to further my commitment. The donation still stands and the support, too. Now more than ever, we are reminded of just how important family is, how lucky we who have family are, and how vital the creation of families is to the survival — especially the emotional, psychic, and spiritual survival — of humanity.”

This is a tough time for everyone, including nonprofits. And unfortunately, even this pandemic hasn’t slowed or stopped the discrimination our families face. Family Equality is continuing to do everything possible to ensure that LGBTQ+ families and those forming them will have all the protections we need and deserve.

We know that these are difficult times for everyone, and we hope that you, your family and your loved ones are staying safe. You've been so good to us, please know that we are here to support you in any way that we can. Just this week, we are rolling out a new online hub for LGBTQ+ families with online videos, live-streamed content, and programming for families nationwide!.

In the meantime, know of our gratitude and best wishes. We join you and all of our families nationwide in looking forward to easier times,

The Family Equality Pier Leadership Team
